The doors of our Madrid flagship store have reopened, unveiling a fully reimagined space designed by our creative director Achilles Ion Gabriel.
This is the first time Achilles brings his creative vision into a physical retail environment, translating his design language that fuses brutalist references with a sense of warmth and sophistication. The store showcases both Camper and CAMPERLAB collections, each housed in distinct yet harmoniously connected areas.
“I wanted to create a store that feels permanent, like something that could have been there forever. It’s brutalist yet timeless—like something that could have been done in the 70s,” says Achilles.
The interior design plays with contrasting materials: dark laminated ebony wood on the walls, Royal Brown marble flooring, wooden benches, and concrete geometric seating in the CAMPERLAB section.
“The space looks amazing even without products, but once the product is in, it completely transforms—more like a showroom that highlights the collection than a traditional store.”
Soft diffuse lighting complements precise window spotlights and built-in lightboxes that illuminate the products, the true protagonists of the space.
True to Camper’s philosophy of tradition-meets-innovation, the Serrano flagship store embodies a balance between fitting into Madrid’s urban landscape and remaining unmistakably part of the brand’s universe.
“For me, designing a store is as natural as designing a shoe. Both follow the same creative logic,” Achilles concludes.
