Over the years, we’ve been investigating how we can make our entire business more environmentally friendly, including our materials. Not only are we working to increase our use of recycled options, but we work with recognized industry leaders across the globe to develop footwear with some of the most innovative and environmentally sustainable materials that are currently available.
During the production process, we employ a wide variety of materials of both natural and synthetic origin. Constantly on the lookout for elements which are durable and long-lasting, we only integrate new fabrics and leathers into our collections once we have determined that their performance is consistent with our high standards regarding quality and aesthetic.
We’re not there yet and we still have a lot of work ahead of us. However, we’re committed to asking our suppliers for even greater visibility and collaboration so that we can share that transparency with you. This information also allows us to assess, critique and advance our performance, so that we can improve with each new collection.
Here you can find details of the materials we use in our collections and read about the steps we’re taking to make them better.
The quality and safety of our materials is an extremely important issue to us. We set high standards to ensure that suppliers are transparent and in strict accordance with our policy regarding chemicals and restricted substances.
We apply the highest level of restrictive standards for all markets in which we operate, prohibiting the use of materials that we find to be unfriendly to the environment. Our restricted chemicals list sets targets against a wide variety of chemicals such as chrome VI, formaldehyde, and heavy metals, making sure they never appear in our products. The policy is updated on an annual basis to ensure it incorporates the most accurate and up-to-date guidelines.
To enforce this policy, we conduct random testing each season through approved third party laboratories to ensure that all standards are being met according to the EU REACH Regulation 1907/2006 guidelines.Click here to download our list
