Camper x TAKK at Mayrit 2026

Hosted in our Serrano store in Madrid

As part of Madrid’s Mayrit Biennial, Camper invited architecture studio TAKK to intervene in its Serrano flagship, transforming the store into a space for experimentation and dialogue around contemporary design. Developed by Mireia Luzárraga and Alejandro Muiño, the installation responded to the biennial’s theme, (Super)Models, by questioning conventional approaches to furniture production and material use.

At the centre of the project was an exploration of wax — a material typically associated with temporary prototypes and intermediate stages of production. TAKK reimagined it as a final material, proposing an alternative model based on adaptability, circularity and continuous transformation.

Shaped by gravity into soft, organic forms, the pieces functioned simultaneously as stools and footwear displays. Their mutable nature allowed them to be endlessly reconfigured without generating waste, challenging traditional ideas of permanence, utility and value in design.

Installed within the store’s existing architecture, the wax structures created a striking dialogue with the space’s robust material palette of marble and ebony wood. The resulting intervention blurred the boundaries between retail, exhibition and research, inviting visitors to engage with new ways of thinking about materials, production and the future of design.

The installation remains on view in June at Camper’s Serrano store, located at Calle Serrano 24, Madrid.
