Camper × EFI

Weaving a better future

In 2015, Camper teamed up with the Ethical Fashion Initiative, combining more than 145 years of shoemaking expertise with the rich heritage of African techniques and materials.

Our longstanding collaboration with the team in Burkina Faso, West Africa, applies the quintessential Burkinabé textile Faso Dan Fani, meaning "fabric woven at home," to limited-edition Camper x EFI styles.

Local women spin organic cotton yarn by hand using a distaff before the textile is woven on traditional wooden floor looms.

The project supports access to employment, knowledge, and skills, creating a positive social impact on local producers and communities.

The Ethical Fashion Initiative is a flagship program of the International Trade Center, a joint agency of the World Trade Organization and the United Nations. The initiative empowers micro-producers by providing access to sustainable employment.
